Childhood Cancer Research Foundation
Tiffany / Chuck, Thanks for the opportunity to raise money for the Childhood Cancer Research Foundation. We were able to raise $107 that day. It went so well, we held it again in our front yard the next day, and raised an additional $29. Freshest In Town - 5/31/09
I wanted to thank you for the wonderful meat & produce selection. It is the freshest in town! I have purchased meat/produce from the Kroger and walmart stores (Kroger is the WORST)-they don't compare to the quality that communinty market has! Plus the employees are always so friendly! When I walk into community market, I am not "just another customer", I get waves and friendly "HI"! Toodie and other cashiers even remember my kids by name! Thank you for being such a wonderful store!

Special Order - 5/27/09
Today I talked to Keith Thompson about a problem I was having. One of the vendors at his store wasn't ordering a product that you guys carry. He took care of the problem and addressed all of my concerns. Apparently the vendor had been not ordering the product and he said he would make sure it was ordered for me this week. This is an example of customer engagement and why people go to your business instead of Krogers (which is the only other store that carrys that product in Bellefontaine). You should give the man a raise! Kudos to your DM for picking a great Store Manager!!!!!!

Helpful Manager - 5/27/09
I just wanted to let you know how helpful the manager, John, is at the Decatur, Indiana store. I had a coupon that you had sent me in your weekly e-mail and they were out of the product. He offered to substitute the item which wasn't necessary. He really goes above and beyond. I really like the fact that Community Markets is easy to get in and get out of unlike the larger box stores. It's a great convenience when time is limited. I also, wanted to comment on the fact that I appreciate you trying to provide local products. I think that's huge in today's economy!

Helpful in every Department - 3/13/09
I spend a good share of money in this store and it is because of this young fellow (Dustin, the assistant manager). Dustin is always so pleasant, has a smile on his face, and is helpful in every department. He is the reason that I choose to spend my money here. And I am very happy to have found Dustin, he is just the GREATEST!!! And once again I can shop here in Mc Comb and enjoy my shopping experience. My husband and I have always tried to keep our business in town and as long as Dustin is out here at this store, we will.

Let me tell you about a great guy you have working there. His name is Frank and works in the deli he is very nice helps you if you cant find something he goes and finds it for you. Also he is the kind of guy you would want to find at every store. I think it is great to have somebody like that. She Has Made Two Lifetime Shoppers Out Of Us - 9/26/08
My mother is 76 years old and shops at your store in McComb. One day she called me (along with all her friends) to rave about a young girl working there. She said she had never experience customer service like she did there. The girl helped her find italian seasoning (since my moms eyes aren't the greatest she had trouble reading the tiny lables) and then when it was time to check out she opened another register just for her. Once she was done checking her out she even left the register and carried out her groceries to the car. I went to visit my mom this past week and I went to pick up some groceries for her. My mother insisted I go to experience the customer service. Sure enough the girl was working (her nametag said Krystal Customer Service Manager. It makes perfect sence) and I got the same treatment as my mother. By the time she had carried my groceries out and unloaded them we had been talking in the parking lot for over 5 minutes. I felt as if I had known her for years. She gives you the feeling as if you're shopping at a store run by your own family and friends. Which makes it easier to cope with the idea of all the money youre spending for groceries. My mother and I felt after these experiences she deserved to have a little spotlight for her job well done. She has made two lifetime shoppers out of us.

Great Produce - 8/11/08
I wrote you a while back to let you know how bad the produce department is at this location. Well, I am writing this time to let you know it has really changed for the best. For some time I did not go into your Court House store. Two weeks ago I stopped in to pick up a couple of thing that Aldi's doesn't carry. When I first entered I saw some ears of homegrown corn so I stopped to pick some up. From there I looked through the produce area and noticed that the colors were rich, each section was full, and the produce was aranged in a way that was inviting. It looked like a TV add. So instead of going on to Aldi's I walked back into the enterance, grabbed a shopping a cart, and gathered my fruits and veggies there. The true test would be seeing if I could eat from my purchase for the week. Sure enough I could. Not one item went bad. I got to enjoy every bit of it. Last week I didn't even go across town to the Aldi store. I got all my produce at Ev's. And again, the produce section looked like it should have been in a commercial. So thank you for your help and please be sure to give that store a pat on the back for a job well done!

Helpful Manager - 7/18/08
I wanted to compliment the Manager of this Great Scott. He always goes out of his way to be helpful and friendly. He is always out in the store working, and greeting people. I have a 16 month old, and am going to have twins in the next couple of weeks. He always makes sure that I have help going to my car, and putting the groceries in the car. He has also told me that when I have the twins, and my daughter, and need to come shopping. Give them a call and he will make sure I have help getting into the store. I just think that is outstanding service, and I appreciate it very much.

Dear Great Scot Supermarket, Approximately 160 volunteers were honored on Thursday, April 24th at the Volunteer Recognition Dessert, "A Celebration of Community Service." The evening included featured speaker Judy Donnan, musical entertainment by "Kaleidoscope" the Clyde High School Show Choir, a dessert and drink buffet, and the honoring of those who give unselfishly to our community organizations. Seventeen local agencies chose to unite in honoring their volunteers. This has been a wonderful collaboration of organizations and community to honor volunteerism. The April 24th Recognition Dessert marked the seventh annual event of this nature...a night we hope to continue for many years. Thank you for helping to make this event possible. Your dessert was delicious...and it was part of a dessert table that served those volunteers in attendance. Thank you again for your support! I just never imagined would provide such great customer service. - 4/23/08
Nellie B. called to say that when she read the ad this week she noticed the section, Customer's Say the Nicest Things... and she wanted to relate an incident that happened at our Community Markets store in Wapakoneta: Nellie said she got to the store between 3:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. trying to beat a snowstorm (rain turning to snow) predicted to begin between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. When she got to the front end and checked out she found the snow had started while she was shopping and was coming down so hard all she could see was white outside. She indicated one of the big guys in the store; she thought his name was Rob Rettig, carried out her groceries. She got to the entrance/exit with the handrail and she told Rob he could go ahead and put the groceries in her car indicating the model and location. She would be along as soon as she could navigate across the lot. Nellie said and then something happened that had never happened to her before; Rob asked her if she would feel safer going across the lot holding on to his arm. She was thrilled and as he took her safely to her car. And then she said; after he loaded her groceries into the car he noticed the snow scraper on the floor and took the scraper out and cleaned off her windows. Nellie said I just never imagined anyone would provide such great customer service.

Bananas - 3/26/08
I wanted to know why the banana's were so ... high in price. No one had any answers but when I was in the little McComb store the young lady in the produce department had a sign on the banana stand stating why. She was there and even went into detail about flooding in Ecuador and how bananas come here to our table. It was nice to see someone knew the answer. It's nice to see the difference between big grocery chains verses small town stores. Big companies just have employees that are there for a paycheck no matter how inexperienced they are in the department they are in. Smaller stores like the one that I was in seems to know the ins and outs of why things are priced the way they are in this crazy world we are in today.
